19 Weeks

I had another doctor's appointment yesterday.  They tested my blood again and found that my blood count didn't make much improvement from June.  A blood count of 32-34 is considered anemic- my count in June was 35 and yesterday was only 36.  So I now have to take two iron pills instead of one a day.  Hopefully this will help me have a little more energy.  Otherwise things looked good- the baby's heartbeat was 145 and we have an ultrasound scheduled for next Wednesday.  We won't be finding out the sex of the baby, as we want to keep that a surprise, but it will be great to finally get a peek at the little one!  We scheduled it so that Ryleigh will be able to go with us.  She is very excited to "see" her baby sister (Ryleigh is still determined that she is having a baby sister).

Basement Update

Posted by The Flesners

With the new baby coming we are finishing the basement so that we still have a spare room when people come to visit and Jeff has somewhere to store his brewing materials.  A lot of work has already been put in over the summer, but we still have a ways to go.  A big thank you goes out to Heather's dad for all the help he gave us this summer.  Below are pictures of our progress.

Jeff and Dad spent a morning cutting and removing the cement and the dirt so they could work on the plumbing in the bathroom.  It was a giant mess- we still have some cement dust lingering in the air.

Drywall in the bedroom.  Notice the crack in the drywall by the ladder-  Ryleigh was using this as a "mailbox" and was mailing small piece of scrap wood through it.

Here is a picture of Ryleigh's mail.  We left it in the wall and put the drywall over it.

Big News

Just wanted to let everyone know that Jeff recently received his diploma from a local community college.  After working hard over the last three years he finished up the last of his classes this past summer.  He saved the best for last- Calculus, ugh!  However, as usually he did great!  His degree is an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts with a Business Transfer.  Jeff is taking a semester off before starting back at it.  He is planning to get his degree in Business Administration.  At the next school he can do his entire degree online, which will be really nice.  He figures it will take him about 3 years to finish up the program.

1st Day of School

Ryleigh started her second year of preschool this year (since her birthday is in December she has to wait another year for Kindergarten).  Her first day of school was August 18th, so I am a little behind in getting her pictures from that day up.  Ryleigh goes five days a week in the mornings.  She loves school, but also enjoys hanging out with her dad in the afternoon.

Ryleigh The Baker

Ryleigh loves to help out in the kitchen.  The other day she asked to make sugar cookies, her dad's favorite, so we got out her baking kit and mixed up a batch of cookies.

Mixing up the dry ingredients.
Rolling out the dough.
Ryleigh was excited about using her cookie cutters!
Here are the cookies before they headed into the oven.
Ryleigh did a great job and made some yummy cookies!

16 Weeks

This past weekend I hit the 16 week mark.  I am feeling much better these days- the "all day" morning sickness has gone away for the most part.  I am still struggling with the tiredness though.  Some of that has to do with being back at school and working all day, then coming home to a 4 year old that just wants to play, play, play.  Our next doctor's visit is scheduled for the 29th of September and at that time we will probably set up the ultrasound visit to get a look at the little one.  Ryleigh was able to go with me to the last appointment and hear the baby's heartbeat- she thought it sounded "crazy"!
